1. What FaceWTF is

FaceWTF is an AI entertainment product. It displays animated eyes powered by artificial intelligence that can see you (when you allow it), listen to you (when you allow it), and respond with voice. Each character has its own personality, voice, and visual style.

FaceWTF is NOT a therapist, counselor, medical device, companion app, or substitute for human interaction. It is entertainment software. The characters are fictional. Their responses are generated by AI and do not constitute advice of any kind.

2. Age requirement

You must be at least 13 years old to use FaceWTF. If you are between 13 and 18, you must have parental or guardian consent. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

We do not verify age. We take your word for it. If you lie about your age, that is your responsibility, not ours.

3. Your camera and microphone

Both are off by default. You choose when to turn them on. You can use FaceWTF with just text and mouse.

When you enable the camera:

• The live feed stays in your browser. It is never recorded, stored, streamed, or uploaded continuously.
• A single snapshot is sent to an AI provider only when you explicitly ask a visual question (e.g., "what do you see?"). That frame is analyzed and discarded immediately. It never reaches our servers.
• The rest of the time, the camera is used only for face detection (not face recognition). We detect that a face exists to make the eyes follow you. We cannot identify who you are.

When you enable the microphone:

• Your voice is converted to text locally in your browser using Web Speech API. Only the resulting text is sent to the AI. Your voice audio is never transmitted, recorded, or stored.

4. What you show to the camera is YOUR responsibility

Our AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google) apply strict content filters that block nudity, sexual content, violence, and other prohibited material. These filters are enforced at the provider level and cannot be bypassed through FaceWTF.

Additionally, FaceWTF applies its own content safety layer on top of the provider filters. If the AI detects inappropriate content in a frame, it will refuse to describe it.

We are not responsible for what you choose to show. You agree that you will not use FaceWTF to process, analyze, or generate descriptions of:

• Nudity or sexual content
• Content involving minors in any inappropriate context
• Illegal activity of any kind
• Violence, self-harm, or content promoting harm to others
• Content that violates the laws of your jurisdiction

5. AI-generated content

All character responses are generated by artificial intelligence (GPT-4o-mini, Claude, or other models depending on your plan). These responses are:

• Not factual advice. The AI may say things that are incorrect, misleading, or nonsensical. AI-generated content may contain errors, inaccuracies, or hallucinations.
• Not human. The characters are fictional AI personas. They do not have feelings, memories (beyond the current session), or consciousness.
• Not personalized medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice.

Do not make real-life decisions based on what an AI character tells you.

6. Emotional attachment warning

FaceWTF characters are designed to be engaging and entertaining. However:

These are not real beings. They do not care about you. They do not remember you between sessions. They cannot replace human relationships, therapy, or professional support.

If you find yourself developing emotional dependency on an AI character, we strongly recommend you stop using the product and seek support:

7. Prohibited uses

You agree NOT to use FaceWTF to:

• Generate, solicit, or distribute content depicting minors in any sexual or inappropriate context
• Harass, threaten, or abuse any person
• Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or bypass safety filters
• Use the service for any illegal purpose under the laws of your jurisdiction or Poland
• Scrape, bot, or automate interactions with the service
• Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the service without written permission
• Attempt to identify other users or access their data
• Use the camera feature to process images of people without their consent

Violation of these terms may result in immediate account termination without refund.

8. Accounts and subscriptions

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. Do not share your credentials. If you suspect unauthorized access, contact us immediately.

Paid subscriptions (PRO, MAX) are billed monthly through Stripe. You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds for partial months.

BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) users on the MAX plan are responsible for their own API costs with their chosen provider. FaceWTF is not liable for charges incurred on your personal API keys.

9. Data and privacy

We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

• Email address (for account creation and communication)
• Signup date
• Usage counters (messages per day, vision calls per day)

We do NOT collect or store:

• Camera images or video
• Voice recordings
• Conversation history (ephemeral, cleared when you close the tab)
• Biometric data
• Location data

10. Third-party AI providers

FaceWTF uses third-party AI providers to generate responses:

• OpenAI (GPT-4o-mini, GPT-4o) for text and vision
• Anthropic (Claude) for text
• Google Cloud for text-to-speech
• Microsoft Edge TTS for text-to-speech

When you send a message or ask a visual question, the text (and optionally a single frame) is sent to these providers for processing. Each provider has their own privacy policy and content moderation. All providers apply strict content filters that block nudity, sexual content, and other prohibited material.

11. Limitation of liability

FACEWTF IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE AVAILABILITY, ACCURACY, OR RELIABILITY OF THE SERVICE OR ANY AI-GENERATED CONTENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL FACEWTF, ITS FOUNDER, EMPLOYEES, OR AFFILIATES BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

YOU USE FACEWTF AT YOUR OWN RISK. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS FACEWTF FROM ANY CLAIMS ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO CLAIMS RELATED TO CONTENT YOU SHOWED TO THE CAMERA OR CONVERSATIONS YOU HAD WITH AI CHARACTERS.

12. Content you create

If you screenshot, record, or share your interactions with FaceWTF characters, you are responsible for that content. FaceWTF does not own your screenshots or recordings, but you may not claim that AI-generated responses represent real statements from real people or entities.

13. Service availability

We strive to keep FaceWTF available 24/7 but do not guarantee uptime. We may suspend, modify, or discontinue the service at any time without prior notice. We are not liable for any loss resulting from service interruption.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Changes take effect when posted on this page. Continued use of FaceWTF after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Poland. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Warsaw, Poland.

16. GDPR rights (EU users)

If you are in the European Union, you have the right to:

• Access your personal data (email, signup date)
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Request data portability
• Withdraw consent at any time

17. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
